In November 2015 I was asked to help design and make a set for the play ‘An Ideal Husband’ by Oscar Wilde. The Director had a vision of an opulent drawing room, however it had to be created on a very small budget. It was an Am-Dram group, but with professional standards, and it had to look good.
Luckily I knew about Fabric Land and the range of good value fabrics. I spoke to staff who were very helpful with the suggestions of fabrics suitable and was speedily sent samples.
I was able to create a wonderful pleated backdrop curtain, using a roll of cream Honeycomb Parc fabric. It didn’t fray or rip easily and we were able to cool iron the pleats, stretch and staple fabric sections onto a frame.
A wow factor with a perfect result.
