Older versions were once quite flat. However, May shows us how the Leatherette texture now has a more skin-like surface. It is a very supple but strong fabric. In fact, because of its knitted back support, Leatherette is even stronger than leather!

May gives us some great examples of how to use this fabric. It can be used to make bags, like backpacks or holdalls. Leatherette can also be used to create cool jackets, dresses and skirts. As Leatherette now has the pliability of natural skin, it is great for covering simple pieces of upholstery and soft furnishings.
