May emphasises the importance of practising your sewing techniques before you sew your creation. When you are using a fabric you are unfamiliar with or trying something new – always test first!

She explains why you should test in the same way you are sewing the fabric. If you are sewing double layers, then test double. If you are using a single fabric, practise first with only a single fabric.

May recommends practising on small pieces of fabric, under the same conditions that you are going to sew your fabric. This way you can be sure you will use the best stitch and get a perfect finish.[/vc_column_text]
