Handling & Fraying: Because brocade is created using floating woven threads to form the pattern, the cut edges will fray very quickly. Always handle your cut pieces gently and finish your seams with an overlocker or zig-zag stitch immediately.
Washing & Care: To preserve the metallic threads and raised patterns, we highly recommend dry cleaning your finished brocade garments. If you must wash them, test a small scrap first in cool water and never wring or tumble dry.
Ironing Tips: Always press brocade from the “wrong” (back) side of the fabric using a pressing cloth on a low-heat setting to avoid melting any metallic fibers or flattening the beautiful raised texture.
