Stretch sequin braid is woven onto a knitted elastic backing, allowing the trim to expand and recover alongside your fabric. This makes it the ideal trimming choice for dancewear leotards, gymnastics wear, ice skating costumes, and jersey dresses, as it won’t pucker or restrict movement when stitched along neckline borders, sleeve cuffs, or leg openings.

When sewing sequin braid on a machine, use a medium-weight Ballpoint needle (75/11 or 80/12) and set your machine to a slightly longer straight stitch or a narrow zig-zag stitch. Sew slowly directly down the centre channel between the sequin rows so the needle glides past the sequin discs rather than punching straight through them. Always turn sequin-trimmed garments inside out and hand wash or use a cool, delicate machine cycle (30°C).
