Metal Studs & Jean Buttons

Jean buttons (also known as tack buttons) consist of two separate pieces: the front decorative metal button and a pointed tack pin. Push the pointed tack through the reverse side of your denim waistband or placket. Place the metal button cap over the tack tip on the front side, turn the garment face-down onto a hard, flat surface, and gently tap the back of the tack with a hammer until the two components lock firmly together.

Our hand press studs feature multiple metallic finish options to complement your chosen fabric or existing hardware. You can select from options such as classic silver, rich gold/brass, and rustic antique tones.

Metal studs and tack buttons are engineered specifically for medium to heavyweight non-stretch fabrics. They are ideal for heavy denim, canvas tote bags, leather jackets, aprons, and utility workwear, where standard thread-sewn buttons would put too much stress on lighter fabric threads.

No heavy machinery is needed! Both our carded silver jean buttons and hand press studs are designed for straightforward DIY application at home using simple hand tools, such as a basic hammer or standard setting tool used over a solid work surface.
