The ideal wadding weight depends entirely on the finish you want to achieve. At Fabric Land, we sell wadding by the metre in three distinct weights:

• 2 Ounce Wadding: A lightweight, thin layer perfect for summer quilts, padded clothing linings, and delicate craft projects.

• 4 Ounce Wadding: The standard, most popular mid-weight option. It is excellent for traditional patchwork quilts, baby playmats, and general upholstery padding.

• 8 Ounce Wadding: A heavyweight, highly insulated option. Choose this for thick winter quilts, heavy upholstery work, or structured padded bags.

We stock a comprehensive range of pre-filled cushion pads to suit almost any handmade or store-bought cushion cover. Our square pads are available in 18 inch, 20 inch, 22 inch, and 24 inch sizes. We also stock a rectangular 16 inch x 14.5 inch option. Top Tip: For a beautifully plump and luxurious looking cushion, dressmakers often recommend buying a cushion pad that is slightly larger (about 1 to 2 inches) than your finished cushion cover!

Curtain interlining (often called “bump”) is a thick, heavy, blanket-like fabric that is sewn between your main curtain fabric and the curtain lining. Using bump is the secret to achieving professional, high-end window dressings. It adds incredible volume and body, helping the curtains hang with a beautiful, deep drape. Furthermore, because of its thickness, it acts as a phenomenal thermal insulator, keeping draughts out during the winter and protecting your room from excessive heat during the summer.
