Halloween Fabric

For a classic, sweeping Halloween cape, we highly recommend using satin, liquid foil, or lightweight lining fabrics. If you are designing a cozy cape for outdoor trick-or-treating, our soft anti-pill fleece or velvet offers excellent warmth. For a completely fray-free costume that doesn’t require hemming, craft felt is the ultimate quick-fix choice.

For a traditional, flowing ghost costume, lightweight white cotton poplin, polycotton, or dressmaking satin work beautifully. If you want a more ethereal, floating look with lots of texture, try layering white dress net or soft tulle over a solid white base fabric.

Dress net is incredible for creating volume without adding heavy weight. For a standard child’s ‘no-sew’ tied tutu, you will typically need about 2 to 3 metres of net. For an adult tutu, budget between 4 to 6 metres depending on your preferred fullness. Our net is available in vibrant neon shades, ideal for mixing orange, purple, and black themes.
