Fabric Trimmings & Decorative Lace

All our fabric trimmings, lace, fringe, and decorative braids are sold conveniently by the metre. When you order multiple metres of a single trimming, we supply it wherever possible as one continuous length, making it easy to edge curtains, throw blankets, or dress hems without unwanted joins.

Cotton lace trimming features a soft, natural matte finish that drapes beautifully and can be easily pressed with high heat, making it perfect for vintage dressmaking, heirloom sewing, and natural cotton crafts. Synthetic lace (such as polyester or nylon) offers added durability, wrinkle resistance, and often includes stretch, making it ideal for flexible sleeve borders, dancewear, and machine-washable items.

When attaching heavy or delicate trimmings like 4-inch or 6-inch fringe or beaded strands, pin or tape the flat top header braid securely along your fabric edge. Use a standard sewing machine foot or zipper foot to stitch straight down the centre of the flat header tape, ensuring your machine needle does not hit any hard beads or snag the hanging loose threads.

Trimming piping cord consists of a flexible cord wrapped inside a fabric bias strip with a flat seam allowance flap. Inserting piping cord into the seams of scatter cushions, armchair slipcovers, tote bags, or jacket collars adds structural strength, defines the shape of your item, and creates a crisp, professional tailor-made outline.
